Edmondo Minisci

An "italo-calabro-arbëresh" in Glasgow.

With "italo-calabro-arbëresh" I just resume my origins: I am Italian (italo-), I come from the Calabria region (calabro-), which is the southern part of the peninsula, and I am arbëresh, that is my family and I have far origins from Albania (my ancestors settled in Calabria approximately 500 years ago, with Albanian roots, language and culture, and a Greek-Byzantine religious rite, see more).

I had a post-doc position at Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin, Italy) on the applications of Computational Intelligence to Aerospace Design. Optimal aerodynamic shape, optimal trajectories and optimal flight controllers were the main topics.

I was research assistant at Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin, Italy) for the european project VortexCell2050, under the contract Vortex Cell Optimization.

I joined the Space System Group at University of Glasgow (Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, now School of Engineering, Aerospace Division), in September 2007, as research fellow.

Since January 2012, I have been working at University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK) as Lecturer (now Senior Lecturer) in Multi-disciplinary Design Optimisation (Uni web page). I'm affiliated to the Aerospace Centre of Excellence (ACE) and the Intelligent Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICE-Lab).

I often work with OPTIMAD Engineering S.r.l. and Ergatek S.r.l

From April 2008 to end of 2015, I've acted as local coordinator for the "Scozia" section of ItaliansOnLine web portal/forum and association. (link to Scozia section not working anymore)

I was a passionate cyclist. Read about the Maghighjo Tour 2007 (in Italian).
